The Second Chapter Home is a renovation and vertical extension of an existing ground + one-storey residence, with a new second floor added to create a cohesive multi-level home. An internal steel-and-wood staircase connects the first and second floors through a cut in the existing slab, while the ground floor functions as the owner’s office. The new living spaces are designed in a contemporary South Indian style, with teak tones and rattan accents. An extended balcony with a sloped roof enhances the upper level, and a terrace-mounted solar structure makes the home net-zero, complemented by a terracotta-roofed car park at the front.
